Default Very skinny leopard gecko HELP!!!! - 25-03-2010, 06:32 PM

Hi, I have a very skinny leopard gecko he's eating sometimes but not enough to put weight on he's been to the vets and he's got no parasites and he's not impacted. As substrate he's got tiles all the lighting and temps are correct he was a moist hide along with two other hides one on the warm side one on the Cool side. He gets dusted crickets which are gut loaded but he just isn't putting on weight somebody please help.

if his temps are all correct but he's still not eating correctly and is very skinny then I'd suspect internal worms/parasites ~ did the vets do a full feacal check or just a flotation/smear test on his poo? I'd recommend having a FULL feacal check done to rule out not only normal parasites/worms but also coccidia, fungal infections and bacterial amongst other possibilities.

I would agree with Dee on what she said but also if treated for parasites you could try vary the geckos diet with hoppers some mealworms and waxworms to get its digestive system working regularly, just a thought
