lol hand feeding is a good way to help them out after an infection
keep him on the cat food until he shows an interest in other foods like crickets locusts or meal worms
Dont leave them in the viv with him over night though
how does the abcess seem has the swelling gone down at all?

he could be waiting for a shed wait until after he has shed and if he is still not opening his eye then get a moist cotton bud and wipe the eye.
It could be that when the vet was draining it something may have come in contact with his eye.

Try bathing the eye area again hun he could have a secondary infection in there
The cat food could be making him put on a little weight,
Try to wean him off of it and give him as much excersize as possible
If the eye is still not open but the end of the week take him back to the vets
