Don't know too much about these myself, apart from they are pretty aggressive and have a strong old bite on them.

Hopefully someone else round here has more experience with them.

They look amazing but are really evil. We have one at college and all you have to do is look in its cage and it'll hiss at you with its mouth open!!!

If you do get one you should probably get a very young one so it can get used to being handled from an early stage.

The guy at my local reptile place said that "Tokays are the crocodiles of the gecko world, they're nasty, once they bite you they won't let go" that puts me off having one even for ornamental value, how you gonna feed something that will try to snap at you every time you put your hand in and also if it gets out, you'll probably have a hard time putting it back in its viv lol...

Old thread but it has to be said, Tokay geckos are not aggressive at all, they are just extremely defensive and shy. You can't "tame" them but you can get them used to you and if they don't see you as a threat then you get to see their other side which is a very curious and loving gecko!

They can be tammed, IF your willing to be bitten etc and ALOT of hard work. They also don't like to be handled so if you look at it from a stress point of view it's not doing them any good!
