Default Tiles/Lino -HELP! - 02-11-2011, 05:00 PM

Hi All,

After reading a lot of bad things about calci sand i am going to be getting rid of it and replacing it.

it seems that the best recomendation is tiles but i also saw something about lino - can this be adhesive lino and will that create any fumes from the heat? im struggling to find anywhere that can cut the tiles to size unless anyone can recommend anywhere or confirm how good repti carpet is?

any help would be much appreciated as im worried about impaction for my leo!

Just use bog standard adhesive lino tiles from some where like b & q and cut them to size your self with a sharp stanley knife, best way to get rid of any fumes is to leave them on top ofa warm radiator for a few days to burn the fumes off.

Repti carpet is useless, akward to clean and you will hear horror stories of gecko's getting there claws trapped and damaged in the loops of the carpet

Cali sand is only really a problem if the leo isnt getting enough calcium from their food, they will lick the sand to get sufficient calcium, which in small amounts isnt really harmful, so long as you dust i keep mine on desert sand, my male has calci sand mixed in with it, ive never had a problem, the easiest, cleanest and most simplest thing to use is paper towels, most breeders keep their reps on it, i keep my baby beardies on it, cant eat it, cant get caught in it and theres no bad stories about it :-) hope this helps a little x
