Default Shedding problems with a semi-tame gecko - 06-11-2011, 10:20 AM

Hi everyone,

My leopard gecko has been having his sheds more frequently lately and now he's really struggling with this one. There is still skin on one half of his face and one eye which is clearly making him angry, I was told to use a cotton bud & warm water to bath it but the problem is he doesn't like to be held or touched, he will let you stroke his head/back a little but quickly get defensive. Basically what I want to know is if I do use a cotton bud will this be really stressful for him and delay the taming down process or should I just go for it? what is better for him?

thanks guys

Just to let everyone know I went ahead and tried using the cotton bud to bathe his skin on his head and he loved it! It also prompted him to start licking the skin away from around his eyes and it seems to be coming away now =] good times
