Exclamation not eating after 3 weeks - 29-03-2009, 09:01 PM

Hey, I recently bought a gorgeous 10 month old crested gecko. I have her in a big tall vivarium with jungle vines, leaves and eco earth substrate.

the thing is she doesnt seem to move around much in her viv. the tempreture is always between 20 and 25 degrees C and her humidity is about right at the top and the bottom of the viv.

When i take her out to handle her she is so friendly, jumping on me as opposed to away from me. she hand walks and curls up in my lap from time to time so i don't understand why she isnt more active in her viv but she is when shes out. she seems to stay in one place (which is often wherever i put her) in her viv but once out she is more than happy to explore when out.

She also doesnt seem to be eating. I've tried mealworms and crickets, pureed bannana, T-rex crested gecko diet...allsorts but she hasnt touched any mealworms which are in a little exo terra dish. the crickets are hopping about her viv (only about 3 or 4) but she just doesnt seem interested! I havnt found any poo's in her viv which is quite worrying as i've had her for about 3 weeks now.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on with her? i left her for 2 weeks before handling her and she seems fine in herself. could she just still be adjusting to her new environment?

Thanks for any advice.

erm.. is she near TV/Computer/other noisy things? could be maybe she is getting stressed? or noisy children?

i'd probably change the substrate to kitchen roll (i find it easier to keep track on what's being eaten and what's being passed out).

you could try hand feeding - holding crickets with the tweezers infront of her, and using a cotton wool bud to dab CGD onto her nose (they will lick it off).. at least that way she'll be getting something

hope that helps
