Hello, my name's Amy.

I recently decided I want a leo, but I'm unsure about lighting arrangements for its viv.
I'd have it in my bedroom which has a large window that lets a decent amount of light in. Obviously, I don't want to buy a light when I don't need one, but I'm unsure as to how much light they need. I know they're nocturnal, I'm just slightly worried as every website seems to think I'll need a day light.

Also, if I don't have a day light, will I need any other source of heat other than a heat mat?

Thanks for any replies.

hi
although nocturnal so long as they have access to light for a day/night cycle (whether by windows or room light) then there isn't any need for extar viv lighting
They only need a statted heatmat for heating

Awesome, thanks.
Btw, how much do you think the whole set up should cost? Don't want to be ripped off.

the whole set-up ~ wooden viv, heatmat, stat, good digital thermometer, and all the other bits shouldn't be more then £100 if not less
I have a list of things you need plus care sheets on my website which may help ~ SleepyDee Geckos

Wow, really? Do you know where I can get a decently priced viv then? All the ones I've found are costing around £100 on their own!

Just out of curiosity, have you bought anything from these sites before? Just wanted to know if they were trustworthy. =)

fraid I haven't ~ I tend to either make my own vivs or convert bookcases into mini stacks
