Hi,
We've just aquired a beautiful 6yr old leopard gecko, and we've only had i for about a week.

The only issue is its feeding. It had a waxworm 5 days ago, but has had nothing since. I've never had lizards before, and my other half has only had snakes, and we're not sure whats normal. All the books say every couple of days but I reckon every gecko is different.

I've read a couple of other posts about being too near TVs and things and mine is right next to a big TV and amp rig, so that could be an issue, and my cat takes a big interest in him, but cant get to him. having said that he's v. friendly and has no issues being handled.

I've also had a bit of an problem with getting the enviro quite right. the heater attatched to the lamp doesnt seem to work so we've detatched that, but there is a good 5-10C temp diff at either end of the viv. The humididty is ~35%, but we can get it up to 50% with spraying his bark.

He has just fininshed shedding, so I'm wondering if this is having any affect on him?

Any advice would be really welcome.

Thanks

Lisa

When shedding it is true they do no often eat.

Just a few points to remember

You should ideally use a heatmat attached to a thermostat.
You should be measuring temps with a digital thermometer.
The warm end should be between 29-32C.
The "cool" end should be around room temp say 21-24C.
There should be a minimum of 3 hides. One in the cool end one in the warm end and one humid hide which should ideally be on the warm end.

Also what are you using as a feeder insect? try a bowl of mealies, if you count how many are in the bowl you'll know if he/she has eaten.
They might just be shy.

I used to do this but not a big fan on feeding too many mealies, they have high chitin content and I believe this could be bad for your leo.
