hi,
im new to this site and am planning to set up for some leopard geckos. these will be my first reptile pets, hence asking for advice.
the internet is full of conflicting information, which is confusing me.
my OH and i have aquired a 5ft x 2ft x 2ft aquarium, read various "caresheets" on the web, some saying aquarium conversions are great and others saying otherwise. we visited our local reptile store and they advised not to use it :/
does anyone else use an aquarium?
also do people use bottled water (on its own) or tap water with reptisafe?
what would be the best substrate for any age/size leo? im trying to avoid sand because of impaction. i thought maybe floor tiles or lino? purely because these will be easy to clean/manage and look a bit nicer than kitchen roll lol!
i would like to own a male and maybe 2 or 3 females together, does anyone have any advice on this? would a vivexotic LX48 be big enough? (this is the viv ive been looking at since the reptile shop advised against the aquarium)
sorry for all the questions but i dont want to rush into setting up and buying them and ultimately not giving them the best life.
i want as much info and FACTS as possible beforehand
i have already found the closest reptile vet to me and 2 others (just incase)
any answers to my questions or help in general would be very greatly appreciated and will enable my future pets the best life possible
thanks in advance,
Rosie
