Glad everyone understands each other. Yes Kraven I knew exactly what you meant and felt alitte more explaining was needed as can see things can get out of hand on one misunderstanding.. I too am absolutly against any sort of bad training but alot of people (even friends I know) have this attitude engraved on their brains as that was the old way of doing things. But glad were all now sorted. Chris as for the Kong for the puppy they do different sizes and even do one for a puppy. I have the hardest biggest one as I've a Rotty and he loves it. Kong do several ranges so try looking at other things for puppy as it needs alot of stimulation right now. Keeps them active and occupied and also stimulates their brains into thinking "yumm yumm food, how can I get to it". I've learnt over the years you really need to stuff it hard, solid as they'll learn otherwise to empty it in seconds. You can also buy Kong paste in many flavours. This is basically like toothpaste but not, and helps bind things in to it and lets the dog really enjoy licking it out. As you now there are many puppy designed treats so fill it with them but try and make them additive free or nice chewy bits like natural hide or tripe. Pets at Home do a good selection of natural/additive free treats. Alittle more expensive but great as you dont want puppy becomin overweight or health issues coz of them. Have you tried baking your own liver treats. They go mad for these. When you get you crate it will be very advisable to associate puppy of going into the crate where he'll get his stuffed kong. Otherwise why does she need to go in, they'll associate with punishment and you need to teach them going in is a good thing. Look up "crate training" as its not just a simple case of putting dog in there. Dont forget to take puppy out regarding toilet training wether she has asked to go out or not and simply praise like hell when they go. Keep her bladder empty helps. I'm always about if you need help, just give us a shout on ere

I should of explained myself clearly when offering advice. The reason I was straight with you Chris was because I think rubbing a dogs nose in crap is a terrible way to train a dog. I should of advised you on different ways of "potty" training a dog as JACDORE did quite well.

So hopefully you will accept my apology.

Kraven

She will cotton on whats good and whats bad far quicker than you can give her credit for. They even pick up just from our expressions and tone of voice. Good luck with the continued "No wetting". Hope she likes her Kongs when you get them. Any pics going of pup?

I was searching for dog forums when I came across this post, if this sounds a bit odd, harsh etc. it isn't meant to be I am just trying to help.

Staffies are very sensitive dogs, I have had mine for 6 weeks now and he has done this, 3 months is a short time for a dog to settle in and learn the house rules. Dogs that pee on the bed are nervous and insecure, your bed smells very strongly of you so he is putting his smell with yours, he is trying to bond with you.

As your dog is a different species to us and speaks a different language, how is he to understand why you are putting his nose in the poo? We have to teach our babies and children how to speak, to understand our speech, to learn to live in our homes with us and to toilet train them yet we expect dogs to automatically know all this.

The best way to stop this is to keep your bedroom door shut, if he can't get in he can't pee and poo on your bed. This is all I do with my Staffy boy and my bed stays clean and dry. I do have a dog that will open doors, if I turn the handle upside down this makes it easier for her, so I also have a baby gate at the top of the stairs, she can jump it he can't.

Of course she will run into the living room and hide, she is picking up on your body language which is expecting her to have done something, she doesn't know that she has done wrong because she is a dog and is just being a dog, only humans have right and wrong. Your dog is frightened of you when you come in.

My staffy boy came to me 8kg underweight, I will put photos in my introduction of Cyril and my other dogs, all rescue.

How I work with my dogs, if I won't do something to a 3year old or under child, I don't do it to my dogs either.
