Come over to this forum you will get GREAT advice and help. Please don't put your dogs nose in it as it's not her fault she hasn't been trained properly. www.staffyclub.com

Yeah pushing the dogs nose into crap is probably the worst way to train a dog. How about doing some research before owning a pet?

what? oh cmon like i havent looked at tons of stuff on the net like i havent just spent £40 on a dog basket she's ripped to bits. or £20 on the toys she dont touch. or £15 nail clippers, it was me who looked around and found out why she is scared of the dark and wont go out at night.

look you dont know what i do and dont know..so dont give me the ol "you should of reasearched your pet before you bought it" because i did for ages thank you very much    how do you know i just didnt "research" this perticular topic? most people wouldnt if they get told the dog they r buying IS allready house trained why would i go looking on the net for problems with peeing on my bed? exactly i wouldnt have no one would.

before i bought my leo's i wouldnt have gone on the net looking for an answer as to why one toenail is longer then the other would i?

if i hadnt "RESEARCHED" INTO THE SUBJECT I WOULDNT KNOW HALF THE STUFF I KNOW NOW.

god i hate it when people say that crap

. nothing CONSTRUCTIVE TO SAY?.......U KNOW THE REST.

All I'll say is how would you like your nose rubbed into your pee/poo when you do or say something you shouldnt. Your dog doesnt know the rules yet!! It has been proved that this method DOESNT work. Try joining a puppy dog class thats APDT approved. It sounds like puppy is in desperate need of exercise, something to keep her mind active, and loads of training! Also it would be good for her to mix with other pupps to learn socialization skills.

All APDT trainers will tell you is reward all good behaviour and totally ignore the bad. We had a puppy (now 2) who wasnt house trained within the slightest way of the imagination. After a hell of alot of time in the garden with us and everytime he then did either pee/poo he got really well praised and treated. He did 2, just 2, indoor mistakes and was completely ignored. Not shouted,m not grumbled on, not smacked, not rubbed nose in, just ignored. In fact he was ignored and everything/anyone around him was really played with. He soon got the message and within 2wks of standing outside with him for even an hour at a go, saying pee, pee, or other, he soon learnt it meant go outside and do the business and a lovely tasty treat was the result. It can then go down to very good praise and no treats. Even now at 2yrs old he gets told "good boy" for doing outside stuff.

So even though you bought everything he/she will ever need, Kraven was kinda right in saying do reasearch. Kraven didnt mean it in a nasty way. You just now need training and lots of it and lots of good behaviour rewards.

The peeing on the bed is marking his terroritry and until you teach him otherwise he'll continue to do it. Good luck and let us know how you get on

now that an answer i can work with.
thank you for actualy explaining your answer in a more adequate manner thats just allot more help then a one line - half insult.

im gonna look more into the "crate" method. as it seems the easiest for the dog and will do the job in the first go.

i gotta stress though this dog in its last place of residence NEVER did this and was fully toilet trained.....she was even when i got her.......but then a month ago it changed?

i asked a friend who has raised alot of dogs. its because for 2days i had no work in the day thenon the third day when i was back at work in the day times she does it. thats why i think she's is just being a naughty cow

Looks like she is marking her new territory. We also use a crate but it doesnt solve your problems just like that. Basically stops them destroying the house but they can solve getting out quite quickly. Once they know how to shove the locks they can get out. Can you not lock puppy in say the kitchen whilst out. Make sure he has plenty of toys like kongs filled with treats to stop him tasting your cupboards. Te-he. As said, its training and treats and praise for good behaviour only. Are you making sure puppy goes out for a wee as soon as it wakes, literally within mins, also when pup has eaten. It may take several days even a couple of weeks and ALOT of hard work and patience ensuring pup goes outside immediatly after the mentioned and asking him to pee. Make sure you mention pee and literally the second she has stopped you really praise her and treat her. You will also find you will have to do this anyway every few hours. Puppies bladders fill so often. I remember those nights of first time peeing, standing outside in my garden begging my dog to pee, freezing my nuts off, waiting and waiting, neighbours thinking I was mad saying, pee, pee, pee, then really excitedly praising and treating. But believe me, it works!!!!! Its patience and understanding. Maybe even talk to an APDT trainer. Think you'll find what I say is correct though, not blowing my own trumpet. There is alot of so called dog-trainers out there who know nothing and call there method the right way but so isnt. Thats what an APDT trainer is, 100% approved by Kennel Club. They have a website of your nearest set of trainers so it may be worth taking a look. Good luck!

Hi,

As I want to remain a active member of this forum and uphold a positive reputation I think I will apologise for my post.

I should of explained myself clearly when offering advice. The reason I was straight with you Chris was because I think rubbing a dogs nose in crap is a terrible way to train a dog. I should of advised you on different ways of "potty" training a dog as JACDORE did quite well.

So hopefully you will accept my apology.

Kraven
