Hi everyone...

I got this crestie 3 weeks ago now...



This is the first time i have owned one, according to the lady i got him off.. he should be around 10 weeks old right now. I'm not familiar with sizes of hatchlings.. as you can see, he is around 2 and a half inches, would this be about right for a 10 week old baby?

Also he has not shed his skin in the 3 weeks he has been here, how often should this be happening at his young age?

Growth rates vary dramatically from Crestie to Crestie. It seems to depend on geneology and diet mainly. 2 1/2 inches sounds like a fine size for a 10 week old.

He may well have shed his skin but you have not noticed. It would be done overnight and the old shed gets eaten so you would not see any evidence of this having happened so don't worry about that.

That is suuuuuch a little cutie......He does look about the right size for his age...... mine was about 3 inches at around 12-14 weeks...... & I agree there..... they do shed pretty quickly..... the 1st time I knew mine was doing was cos he couldn't quite reach a little strip of skin right in the middle of his back...... Needless to say he got help taking it off.....& then got fed it (cos I know that's their natural response to shedding)......Since then..... I've kept an eye on it......usually, you'll spot him wearing loose skin (kinda like a jacket) early in the evening..... only to find he'll have fully shed just a few hours later.....Hope he's all well & that yer sooper happy with him.....He's a proper little cutie
