Default Moist Hide - Hot or Cool side. - 12-09-2009, 07:19 AM

Which side of the viv. is best for the moist hide? Most books and sites bias towards the cool side - which is what I have - and he likes it - but two 'sources' have said the warmer side is better, giving it would create a more himid atmosphere, which it obviously would.
I thought the idea was to create a cooler comfortable alternative hide, which also helps with shedding.

depending on the size of the viv/tank/rub I place the moist-hides either at the cool end or the middle ~ small rubs cool end; large vivs = middle

its better to have it on the warm side or half and half so it stays humid

yes this is a topic thats is do this do that no do this no do that kind of question.

I myself have the moist hide the cool end and it works superbly. I have one of those rocks where you attach it to the glass and have the other half on the outside so you can watch them when inside on a middle section.

Then a large rock hide on the heated side.

My gecko's both love this set up.

So I think its whatever you feel is right. As long as their is a moist hide I really think it doesnt matter.

You need to put the humid hide on the warm side. If you read some care sheets you will find about it in the care sheets. So put the humide hide on the warm side.

How long does the moss last? How often do you need to change it?
