Question Marnie here (: - 16-11-2011, 11:14 AM

Hi guys, i'm Marnie from Doncaster. I have a female normal leopard gecko called Lipsy, she is gorgeous. Her front left foot is twisted due to calcium deficiency i reckon - her foot has been like that since before i got her. It doesn't affect her and she is quite lively and healthy. I've had her since May and i love her.

My boyfriend has recently got me a male leopard gecko a few weeks ago. He's called Mario. He is a patternless albino, i dont know how old he is. He is completely fine and healthy. But very jumpy and shy and doesnt like to be picked up at all. I think this is because of his previous owner, maybe they didnt give him much attention as they had a lot of reptiles. He was given up because his owner fell pregnant and couldn't afford to keep all of her reptiles.

They have both been housed together, i thought this would be okay as i know leopard geckos of opposite genders can stay together for a short time and live fine. I was planning on housing them together just until i could sort out different places for them but they seem fine and i dont really know what to do. Should i get another female or seperate them or just leave them as they are? I have read all about the stress and how their body language can translate how they feel but they are both fine. Lipsy is the same as she always has been except she comes out of her hyde a little less since Mario has been there, they both sleep together in the moist hyde and come out seperately to eat. I have kept a very close eye on them to makesure none of them become under weight or ill looking. Lipsy looks healthier since Mariohas lived with her to be honest. Her feet were going a very dark colour and her nails were going black but i misted the tank every hour for a couple of days and she is fine now.

Lipsy still likes to come out of her tank and sit on the sofa with me at night like she always has which i am glad about because i was afraid she would take after Mario and become anti social. And i thought trying to pick Mario up frequently would make him realise i wont hurt him but he still wont get used to it.

I've decided to join a forum because i have a lot of questions to ask, i have read absolutely everything about leopard geckos but not from people with experience and i dont know anyone around here who has leopard geckos.

I hope you guys can help me out
