Question leo eggs !!!!! - 28-03-2011, 11:10 AM

Hi
I am a new owner and have a clutch of eggs from my new leo, she was in a tank with a male in the shop.
So I have 2 eggs and am incubating them but would like to know if the box should be air tight or not as there is alot of conflicting advice out there (ventilation holes stop mouldy eggs and air tight boxes cause mouldy eggs) not sure what to do ????
Also my eggs are baggy looking a little like deflated balloons and again i have researched pictures on the net and some seem to look like mine, what should they look like?
Thanks for any help

What are your temps for incubating? It may be a case of them being dehydrated...what medium you're using or the fact there isn't enough humidity is the reason they're deflating. Infertile eggs also deflate so it could be that they're not fertilised in the first place. A way to find out if they're would be to shine a torch on them in the dark to see if they're yellow (infertile) or pink with veins (fertile).
