Arrow ill or not - 20-10-2010, 07:51 PM

Ive had my first leo for around 7 month which makes him around 20month and i now have two young females seperate from my male. but recently my male has not been eating and has spent alot of time in his moist hide. hee has always been fed crickets and the odd wax worm but i changed to dubia roaches and he seem to take before he stopped. i have tried mealworms and morio worms too but he just licks them and walks away :s he isnt really active in his viv but when i pick him up he is sometimes really panicy or can be settled and lay on me. i have searched the net for reasons and find all the illnesses but he is absolutely fine he did lose wieght at first but he has eaten twice in the last 3week and is just lower than his normal wieght (68g at the min) he just seems lazy and inactive. but i am getting worried with him not eating. also with him spending alot ov time in the moist hide his belly and bottom of his tail are getting discoloured and doesnt look good.
any help would be great and advice is welcome thanks

although some leos will slow down at this time of year they will still eat even if reduced amounts... have you double checked his temps etc?
I would say though that if his behaviour has changed and your concerned about discolouration on his belly and vent area then I really would recommend getting him checked by a herp vet for a qualified diagnosis and treatment if necessary

His temps are fine high of 94 at times. He just seems a little more ajitated. When sliding the glass doors open he can be spooked or sometimes not. I have put him in a faunarium at the min to really give his viv a good clean just incase there was any parasites or anything. And gave him a cockroach, he seemed fine and went for it straight away but then let go, but 20mins later it was gone so maybe he is just slowing down for the winter, but my two females arent they are really active, my hypo comes out at day quite alot aswell as night. Is there any chance he could sense or smell the new females in the room and is acting different to this?
Thanks
