Right Now I have a Exo-Terra Night-Glo Moonlight Lamp - 50W. I was told I can leave it on 24.7 and it will provide all the heat the gecko needs. Is this right? Or should I have a day time light, and switch to this at night time? Right Now this light keeps the temperature at about 76-77 Degrees Fahrenheit. Is this hot enough?
I think it should be fine and the temperature seems ok although i think its supposed to be a bit higher towards the 80's. I've got a thermometer in the middle of my viv which is usually between 70 and 80 degrees farenheit so the hotter end probably is in the 80's. My thermostat is on 26 degrees centigrade which is 79 farenheit.
Presuming this is a Leopard gecko, then that temp is fine for night time.
However you need to increase it to around 88F during the day, or you can do what most people do, and create a hot and cold end of the tank, and keep one end at 88F and the other at 75F.
Thanks.. I bought a hotter lamp for day and use that one at night..
Quesiton. He has been hiding out a lot and I have had him for a little over a week. Is this normal? I guess he is eating.... NOt really sure...
