Hiya guys
Three weeks ago i accuired a.. what looks like an almost adult hypo, from some "wonderful" person who openly admitted that if i didnt take the lizard he would have just left it in his flat when he moved, the lil fella just sat there all the time like he couldnt be bothered to move, didnt have a heat mat, i noticed there were about 4 crickets in his tank, so i held off feeding him for a couple days, until i noticed they were still there, but had multiplied by about 10 (they were all lodging inside a piece of wood) anyway on closer inspection i think mealworms or similar were breeding under the woodchips because most the chippings were moving and you could see the dirty beasts roaming about at turbo speed! and every piece of wood and the gecko were covered in these tiny little mite looking bugs, so i plonked the geck in the bath (not like swimming pool style but just so it come halfway up his legs to wash them away, i washed everything in the tank with milton tablets and put sand in temporaily, i offered him a hopper, however he then went on to eat, and im not exaggeration at all but he ate 18 medium sized ones and still continued to look afterwards, hes got energy now and seems so much happier but from the start i noticed his little toes dont seem to work properly, when he walks he seems to drag the top of his front feet across the floor and his little toes are often bent over each other, i paniced once cos my other leo did this but it was only when he was about to shed and his skin was too tight, but this one does it all the time, am i worrying over nothing or has he grown abnormally? the calcium stuff he was sent with was crested gecko complete diet lol, bad bones? and if his little toes are deformed can he live ok like that? sorry for long question, but both my boys mean everything to me and are, well my babies to be honest i dont want one to be suffering cos some idiot didnt know how to look after him!
