yeh i understand the reasoning, i just think that toilet roll or kitchen roll looks horrible and if anything taking my gecko away from what he is used to will do him more harm as he eats meal worms or wax worms from a bowl with no sand in it any way and crickets from my hand. and he allways is very well supplimented by vitamins and minerals.
But thanks for the advice!!! ive got a book on leopard geckos which says that kitchen roll etc is recomended for babies but after 6 months of age they are fine on sand but the risk of impaction is minimal and not common and usually caused by an un nutritious and vitamin + mineral lacking diet. hense my gecko is obese, too busy eating insects, not enough time for sand!
