I would like to know if it would be ok to feed my leo in a seperate tank without any decorations as i dont want to feed it in the main tank because the crickets go into the place where she sheds her skin and they stay there for a long time and i dont know if she has had anything to eat. sometimes when i go to clean her out there are loads of crickets in there so i cant monitor how much she has eaten. i have a seperate glass fish tank that i could use to put her in with the crickets to see how much she is going to eat would this be ok with sand at the bottom or would this stress her out.
Alot of people do do this i'm not sure if i'd recomend it. Another option could be to make a section in her tank where she can eat or something...Also most leo's wont eat when they are going to shed. It's also a good idea to remove crickets etc after around 20 mins or half an hour or they can build up quite a lot in a few days and cause her stress...
To be honest, I wouldn't recommend having her eat in another tank. Firstly, she would have to get used to the other tank - which is a whole new learning curve for her. She probably wouldn't eat from it in a few days. Plus, unless you're going to leave her in there overnight, its like you'd be expecting her to eat whenever you put her in the tank...and she simply may not want to eat. Some geckos don't like to eat in front of you, or may choose to eat in the darkest hours of the night. How big is your tank? If it is of a nice size, then you could fit a divider.
how many lucus can my gec have in one day ?????????????
It would depend on the size of your gecko hunny. If she is young then I would say about 4 size 2 locust. If she is an adult I would say about 4 size 3 locust. My adults love locusts and are amazing to watch when they hunt them.
