Default What do you GUT-LOAD Your crickets / worms etc? - 13-04-2007, 11:38 AM

Honey is a good sorce for crickets to eat BUT only put small quantities in the viv etc as they get stuck in it! Great itea to catch the escapees in the house though LOL! Only joking.
I give mine a mixture of salad leaves or apples as it also gives them a drink- what do you do?

I used Bug Grub before from the pet shop but it was really expensive.

I just switched to using ProGrub instead, which I bought a huge bag of online, worked out very cheap.

BugGrub and ProGrub are pretty much the same thing, bran, calcium, vitamins minerals e.t.c. both are excellent gutloaders.

Plus carrots/apple for a vitamin boost and moisture

Hi, i use apples, potatos and pretty much what i buy in for us at the time thats not citrus and kept well dusted. I keep a potato or apple in viv and change every few days with calc powder on to keep any stray crics happy and away from leos. I also do the same for mealworm.

Have been thinking about shop bought stuff for a while. May give it a go.

I buy the gut load online - i do dust once a week with a multi vit too.
Gecko seems fit and healthy and is slowly adding weight!
