Default D. Hydei Flightless Fruit Flies for a Stenodactylus Sthenodactylus - 20-07-2009, 11:54 PM

Ok this has been bugging me recently,

I own 1 Male Stheno he is pretty much fully grown, Ive had alot of debates on what size of crickets he should be eating, ive tried him on a mixed size tub hes ate all but 4th instar and above, Which is fine.

However I want to give him some variety and I am considering D.Hydei Flightless Fruit Flies but think they would be too small, any thoughts?

They grow to 3.5mm In lenght Which is About the size of a 1st Instar Cricket

They are extremely easy to keep and produce a good few hundred/Thousand eggs a month.

Now considering I feed him at present 3 or 4 2nd Instar Crickets, 5 or 6 1st Instar Crickets, The Fruitfly sounds like a good idea,

1st Feed - Black or Brown Crickets

2nd Feed - Flies

3rd Feed - Black or Brown Crickets

....and so on, including the odd Pheonix Worm treat every week.

Any Suggestions Appreciated.
