Im getting a second hard male crestie, and when he passes on (he is a old fellow and needs help eating etc) I was thinking of getting a male and female and to breed them. I was wondering how hard are they to breed and incubate the eggs. Also can they be kept in just pairs for breeding. And what size viv for two of them ?

Cresties are a relatively easy species to breed. However, you need to bear in mind the fact that, over the past year or so, a large number of keepers have decided to start breeding them; this has resulted an increase in the number of animals available and, therefore, a noticeable decrease in the prices that the geckos themselves are now commanding. Having spoken to several reputable breeders, it's now taking much longer to sell hatchlings than it was even a couple of years ago. You should therefore be aware of the fact that you are likely to end up having to care for any potential hatchlings for a prolonged period and may, potentially, lose a considerable amount of money in the process. Please don't misunderstand me: I'm not saying that you shouldn't breed cresties: just that you need to make sure that you have the time / space / money to care for any potential hatchlings before embarking on breeding. If you still feel that you want to go ahead, then I'd recommend checking out the breeding section on the Treasure Crest website, as it contains excellent information.

Many thanks

Personally, I'd house them separately and only introduce them for mating, with each crestie being housed in a 45cm x 45cm x 60cm viv. This will prevent the health of the female being compromised by over-breeding and give her a respite between breeding seasons.
