Default Corn Snake lighting - 25-01-2009, 08:02 PM

Hi i have a corn snake that is about 6 months old and it is currently in a 18x18x18 inch viv but i will need to change soon when it is bigger. I have a 3ft cabinet which i am planning to change into a viv and was wandering if corn snakes can have a lighting source in there and what type of one, i just want to light the viv up as i think it will look gd.

Any full spectrum bulb will do, I suggest getting an exo terra sun glo and a night glo for lighting.

cornsnakes do not need any special lighting so any you add will be for your benefit only.
If you want to add a light make sure it is not a bright light a low wattage energy bulb works well,LED's are a better option if you are willing to pay a little more.

i have a rope light threaded through several of my viv's (it has the advantage that it can be climbed on and it dont get hot)

Using a rope light is a clever idea.
