Default Chris- my crestie has never really been active? - 18-04-2011, 04:21 PM

Hello my name is Nathan.
about 5 months ago I bought a really nice (Juvenile) flame Crested Gecko (Named him chris)
he was really small about the size of my thumb when I got him. He's grown really well past the last 5 months, but I'm really concerned about how inactive he is. He doesn't do NOTHING.

I get him out every evening (Sometimes day aswell)- and because he is a juvenile I hand feed him baby food(with GCD) and fed him live crickets out of his Viv.

But still, he never does ANYTHING never jumps never climbs- barely even moves his head!
I don't know what to do. He's been like it since i had him.
I put him on his plant in his viv- he skuttles away. in the morning i check him again and mist the viv- but he is aways in the same place.

there is no unusual cysts or lumps on him- he looks pretty healthy- with all toes and a tail!
can anyone suggest how to make him anymore active!?!?

i have two female cresty's, which ive had since both were only a few weeks old, theyre about 7 months now, during the day they dont really move too much unless they have to and one is slightly lazier than the other, but they are nocternal so become active while im trying to sleep, if your little fella is always in the same place, the best thing to make sure he's ok would be to maybe pop him to a vet for a check over, always best to be sure :-) x

You can't just make him more active that wouldn't really be very fair on him. They are pretty chilled out anyway. It's good to handle them but not too much really, some people say they are to be looked at more than anything else. Also they sleep in the day so they will be even less active then and you should try not to disturb them then really.
