Exclamation Bored? Trying to Escape! - 01-07-2008, 07:49 PM

Does anyone have any Idea what my Gecko is upto?

Aries has been acting very strange since her last shed.
She normally hides all day and comes out to eat then hides again and comes out late at night when we've gone to bed (I'm still in the habit of getting up to check on them! Sad i know!)

She recently started taking food from my hand, which is great, but since her last shed she is out and about from around 6pm, climbing over everything and seemingly trying to escape!

I have put my hand in a few times to feed them and she has taken to climbing on it running up my arm.

In one way it is good because she was the one who was very shy when we got her and now she won't leave me alone!

Tonight I had an incident where she acually esaped! I'm still shaking now, hence my asking you guys!. The glass doors were both closed tight, and just by chance I looked around and she was halfway out on the shelf outside! luckily I managed to pick her up and slip her back in to her house! I have now firmly closed the door and locked them in! lol

Any Idea what could be causing this. I wasn't sure if it was because she is too hot, too cold, or just bored. She doesn't seem to have eaten much since the last shed on Friday, Maybe 5/6 Mealies. I have left some in there for her and tried to offer some by hand but she is just not interested. She may be eating in the night.

The other Gecko is fine! not showing any of these signs at all!

Please help!

What are the temps?
It could be that she is a little warm and if you dont have a very good gradient then she would be trying to escape the heat.
Other than that you have a leo exactly like 4 of ours every time they are up and you open the viv door all they have to do is se you standing there and they are hanging out of the viv by their back legs expecting you to catch them.

Have lowered the temp on the heatmat for night and she seems to be ok now! Funny little thing!

Still have a high temp during the day with my bulb, but just let the heatmat temp drop slighly!

Seems to be eating a bit better now too! she had 1 waxworm and 6 mealworms for breakfast yesterday! She doesn't seem interested in eating at night like Tifa, so have to put her some food in in the morning!

Thanks for your advice, Brilliant as always!
