Default Best type of Gecko to own? - 23-09-2006, 11:56 AM

What's the best type of Gecko to own? I want to buy one so bad but I don't know which is the best. Or is there not a best kind of Gecko?

The best geckos to start with are probably Leopard Gecko's, they are the easiest to look after.

There is more info on www.geckosuk.com

Day geckos do indeed look very cool, but they are reasonably tricky to look after apparently. Leopard Geckos are the best for a first time lizard in my eyes, they are easier to look after.

I would say a fat tail gecko is the very best as they are much more laid back & have beautiful black bead eyes which are stunning & don't grow quite as big as the leopard gecko.
But which ever you get its worth checking out if you can get the correct set up before you buy. The internet can tell you the areas the gecko or replite comes from & the correct temperatures the lizzard really needs etc. Guess work can be dangerous!

the best type of lizard to start with is a leapord gecko.they need to be kept warm and out of sunlight or they will die (cold blooded, magnifying rays ect. ect.)they need calcuim powder and can eat mealworms and crickets but not any bugs in the house.
