Talking Ball pythons - 13-04-2007, 04:39 PM

I have wanted a ball python for ages, they are such shy snakes... the reason they are called ball pythons in due to the fact that is scared or unsure they would rather surl up into a ball & hide that bite you - though you will always get the odd one who will bite! They mean no harm & have the most stunning markings on them. Unfortunately the kids & geckos & the dog would rather i didn't get one, so i am out voted, plus we would need a rather large tank when it gets bigger which we don't have the room for!!!!

I thought about getting a snake (I still might) but as my girlfriend pointed out, snakes are pretty boring animals.

They are delightful - especially when it comes to eating. Admittedly they are not as active as some reptiles, like beardies for example BUT i know a lady who had a python who took him out of his viv every night for about 30mins & he loved her gold earrings & used to lick them with his flickering tonge for ages everytime she put him round her kneck. Feeding is usually only once a week & is cheap enough. I think they are stunning & they have a face shaped almost like a dog! LOL!
Let us all know if you get one.

My boyfriend has one, and I like him. As said, you have to feed them once a week. And about the tank, they say that a royal python eats much better if he has a small tank, so... A snake is boring, but when it is getting dark, you'll see that they become more active.

Greets Tania

P.S. sorry for the late reply
